Life On Life Evangelism at The YIC
Led by: Todd Stewart
Adults 18 years and older are welcome to join us as we minister to the youth in the Shelter Program at the Youth Intervention Center (YIC) this summer. The YIC is a residential facility located a few minutes from the church in Lancaster city. It provides housing for “at-risk” youth ages 10-18, many in the foster care system. The youth are at the YIC while awaiting transition to a foster placement, another program, a group home, or home reunification. We have been working with the YIC for the past 7 years and have built relationships with youth and staff. Each Sunday we will meet at the YIC and provide food, an activity and a Bible lesson from 9:50-11:45. There is also opportunity to serve them on Saturdays, July 19th and August 16th from 6-8pm for a fun evening of food and activities. Please contact Todd & Audrey Stewart for more info: atstewart519@gmail.com or (717) 715-6031.

Evangelism Explosion Part 2
Led by: Gene Strait, Will deJesus
This elective is for those who have already taken EE part 1 at a workshop, or in a past summer elective. It will build upon the gospel presentation you have already begun to learn, and teach you to actually use it with others. Practice time will help you learn how to be used by the Lord to lead others to a clear understanding of how to place their faith in Jesus for salvation. Planned opportunities to talk to pre-believers will be part of this elective. Jump in and see what God will do!

Biblical View of the Church
Led by: Todd McAllister & John Hoover
If you are interested in pursuing church membership at MBC, or are new to our church and would like to find out more about us, this is the class for you.

Conformed: Christ’s Image in Us (Women Only)
Led by: Katie Fichtner, Laura Xenteras, Karel Strait, and Shawna Henry
Join women from MBC this summer for a time of encouragement and growth as we experience what it means to be conformed to Jesus and allow Him to work out His purposes in our lives. We invite you to come and be encouraged by Scriptures, testimonies, personal reflection, and intergenerational discussion throughout our eight weeks together. All women from On Track and up are warmly welcomed! Questions? Please talk to Katie Fichtner, Shawna Henry, Karel Strait or Laura Xentaras

Conquer Series for Men (Men Only)
Led by: Mike Yowler
It’s time to tool up to conquer one of the most insidious threats to a satisfying relationship with the Lord! Don’t let ignorance of how to deal with temptation in the area of purity rob your joy, and defeat your Christian walk! Join other men for this powerful video series which will help you win spiritual victory, and help others do the same!

Apologetics
Led by: Eric Hine
Biblical apologetics is the active defense of the Christian faith. It will be the goal of this elective to put the truth of 1 Peter 3:15-16 into practice: “But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.” As we study ways to defend the faith, it will all be done with the realization that the purpose of Biblical apologetics is not to win arguments but to win souls.

Parenting
Led by: Brad Halladay
Everywhere we turn--in media, podcasts, and even some Christian books--parents are warned to fear the teen years. Though they enjoy the early years of a child’s life, they dread the day that child will suddenly become difficult, defiant and distant. They’ve heard enough stories of the teen years as a dark valley to brace for survival, hoping to emerge with their teen alive and family intact. Join our interactive summer elective on Age of Opportunity by Paul David Tripp and gain a fresh, gospel-filled perspective on parenting teens. Rather than just surviving adolescence, learn how to see it as a God-given window for meaningful discipleship, growth and connection. Whether you’re a parent of a young child or quickly approaching the teenage years, this elective will equip you with biblical wisdom and practical tools to guide your teens through one of the most transformative seasons of life.

David and His Relationships
Led by: Ron Risser & Ron Hamme
Virtually no one, besides the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, has so many chapters of Scripture devoted to either telling his story or recording his many psalms as does David. He stands out as a shepherd, soldier, musician, king, and prophet. He was a man greatly loved, yet not without enemies who wanted him dead. His many relationships included kings, multiple women, immediate and extended family members, godly prophets, and so many more. Yet, despite his many successes and failures, he is referred to by God Himself as “a man after My own heart.” There is so much we can learn from studying his life.
